Loyal didn’t wait for an invitation to lead; he has always believed in doing the work. At twenty-one, he launched his first business and quickly learned how to handle the challenges of entrepreneurship as a startup. This early foundation gave him the ability to spot systemic gaps and plan for them so an organization can weather the storm.
With more than twenty years in leadership, Loyal has observed a consistent truth: most system failures stem from a lack of alignment, not a lack of effort. His career is defined by a track record of bridging the gap between private-sector agility and public-sector accountability:
Small Business Owner: Leading a team of over 25 staff provided an understanding of the very real challenges business face. Loyal learned how organizational culture and and operational systems build reslience especially through shifting economic cycles.
Governance & Fiscal Oversight: Serving two terms in elected office, including roles as Board Chair, Loyal has overseen multi-million dollar budgets, ensuring public resources align with long-term strategic goals and legislative integrity.
Crisis Management: Having navigated complex regional crises, notably the 2023 Grouse Complex wildfire in 2023, he understands that resilience isn’t just a policy; it’s a commitment to preparation, trust and teamwork.
Philanthropy & Giving: He's the co-founder of a legacy foundation established to honour his late mother. He understands that community is built on reciprocity and what we give, we in turn receive.
Award-Winning Communication: His work was recognized by a BC Broadcast Award for his ‘I Am Me’ anti-bullying campaign, alongside twice being named one of the Kelowna Chamber's Top 40 Under 40 leader and receiving the City of Kelowna Corporate Civic Award.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Disaster and Emergency Management, his goal is to move the focus from simply reacting to crises to building resilience from the start. He wants to improve the social, economic, and political systems that all work together and affect how organizations succeed.
Loyal's experiences influenced his philosphy of the Third Way. An approach built on compromise and collaboration to build resilience. It means avoids you don't have to choose a side: us vs. them or profit vs. community. Instead, it creates a unified path where shared trust becomes the primary engine for sustainable, long-term results.
